The Mark Hotel has everything a photographer could ask for in a location for getting ready: large windows with beautiful natural light pouring in, large suites with plenty of space for friends and family-members to lounge and socialize, private space for the bride to relax, and some fun and quirky spots to photograph the special couple. I was especially thankful for the close proximity to the wedding venue this time at the Boathouse in Central Park!
We had Jenna and Dan’s timeline padded with so much extra space in between activities, no one was ever stressed and everything ran smoothly and on time. It was the perfect day! Thank you both for choosing me to capture your wedding. You’re wonderful! xo
From the perspective of a photographer, a New York City Wedding is truly one of my favorite things! Jenna and Dan pulled off a dreamy affair with their closest friends and family at their side….nestled into the perfect little nook on a peaceful little pond all tucked away from the hustle of the city. It’s a place we all know as the Central Park Boathouse. I say it every time, it’s the quintessential place to get married in the city, surrounded by all that natural beauty. And speaking of natural beauty, Jenna was nothing short of stunning in her blush colored Monique Lhuillier gown. Can we please talk about the detail on that dress? Elegant perfection from head to toe! It was one of those days that we wished would never end. I know it’s something that I’m probably writing about here all the time, how wonderful people are. Well, maybe not all people, but I’m specifically referring to the clients I get to work with. It truly is one of the best parts about my job: the couples I get to connect with, and in many cases, form lasting friendships. I don’t know how I’ve been so lucky to be paired with so many completely relaxed (yet still totally organized), fun, passionate and happy people. I’m talking about the kind of people that just shine from the inside, out. You just know from the very first moment: these are GOOD PEOPLE and everything clicks from there. Well, Brooke and Joe are no exception. I knew that whatever was going to happen – Brooke was going to be there with that giant smile of hers. And let me tell you, that smile didn’t quit for one minute, she was doing that all day long! And I have to say, the day started with rain, and it ended with rain. But her smile didn’t quit. Same with Joe. Their day was not going to be defined by weather, seriously, they’re too laid back for that. And wouldn’t you know, Mother Nature rewarded them with a BEAUTIFUL patch of sunshine right there in the middle and almost on queue. So while the concrete was still wet, the pavement became dry enough for Brooke and Joe to enjoy a few hours in The Park, to take pictures, enjoy some time with family, act goofy with their friends – and enjoy some genuine moments of quiet together just before they said their vows and became hosts to the party of their life! There was no finer backdrop for it all than New York’s Central Park. A place that is filled with beauty and respite in every corner.
